Service Description

Craft an Heirloom and learn the basics of stained glass. This four-week class is your chance to learn the art of Tiffany stained glass (copper foil technique) and lead came. Choose between a beautiful Halloween spider web, or a timeless honeycomb design. Tuesday Nights, 6pm-8pm Sep 24-Oct 15 All tools and materials included Session 1: Tools & Glass Basics - Safety first! We'll get you comfortable with the tools and then dive into choosing the perfect glass colors for your spider web design. Practice cutting on scrap glass to master curves and straight lines. Session 2: Cutting & Grinding Like a Pro - Sharpen your skills as we continue cutting glass and learn grinding techniques. You might even start foiling some pieces! Session 3: Foiling Frenzy! - Cutting, grinding, and foiling will be the name of the game this week. Aim to have all your pieces prepped with foil by the end of class, so next week we can solder them together. Session 4: Soldering & Finishing Touches! In our final session, you'll learn to solder your creation together and add a lead came border for a polished look. Feeling fancy? We'll show you how to incorporate decorative elements like chains, a tiny lil spider, or sun catchers into your design! This embroidery class was perfect!  The space is inviting and sparks creativity.  Cecilia is a skilled and effective teacher.  She provides you a cute little kit with everything you need! Incredibly grateful for Cecilia to hold the space for some therapeutic making time, community, and skills that I can take with me. Thank you, thank you!

"I have only attended the Fiber Club and Marbling Workshop so far am so inspired!! Small Space Collective is such a treasure in our town. San Clemente has been needing something like this for a long time. The two women who run this studio have an incredible vision. They are building a wonderful community of artists and crafters who can share and learn from each other."

Catherine Peet,

"Small Space Collective is such a gem!! I was so happy to find a place to go do small artsy projects. I love that you don't have to sign up for multiple weeks but that you can just pick the workshops that you would like to go and it's easier with me with my schedule that varies all the time. I am already signing up for the next fun workshop."
