Service Description

Crafted with intention these beads will serve as a tool for meditation, mindfulness, and manifestation. A simplified version of traditional Mala, these are elastic and can be comfortably worn wrapped around the wrist. This workshop is designed to guide you through the process of creating your own Mala inspired beads while infusing them with your intentions and aspirations. These beads are designed without the knots of traditional Mala Beads, and with an elastic cord which makes them easier to create and more comfortable to wear wrapped around the wrist. We begin with an introduction to the significance and traditional use of mala beads, as well as tips and suggestions for how they can be used less traditionally. We then explore the meanings of the stones used in this workshop, which are moss agate, dalmatian jasper, and Amazonite. These stones are known facilitate new beginnings, grounding, clarity, and inner strength. Before we begin making our beads, we are guided through a visualization meditional which serves as a tool for centering ourselves and envisioning our dreams and aspirations. Following the meditation we take a few moments to write down our intentions on the keepsake card provided. Under the guidance of your instructor, you'll be led step by step in creating your beads. No prior experience is necessary. As you string each bead, you'll infuse it with your intentions, embedding your personal energy into the beads. To conclude our gathering, we engage in a brief breathing exercise, bringing the sense of closure and unity to the workshop experience. As a memento of your journey, you'll receive a fabric pouch to protect and carry your beads and your keepsake card, a tangible reminder of your intentions and the meanings behind the stones. Limited to 6 participants. Suitable for adults and mature teens. About the Teacher This workshop is led by Cecilia Ostberg of @mindful.crafter and Partner at Small Space Art Collective. Cecilia is a life-long creative and is on a mission to share the healing and positive impact that creativity has on everyone's emotional and physical health and wellbeing. “This embroidery class was perfect!  The space is inviting and sparks creativity.  Cecilia is a skilled and effective teacher.  She provides you a cute little kit with everything you need! Incredibly grateful for Cecilia to hold the space for some therapeutic making time, community, and skills that I can take with me. Thank you, thank you!

"I have only attended the Fiber Club and Marbling Workshop so far am so inspired!! Small Space Collective is such a treasure in our town. San Clemente has been needing something like this for a long time. The two women who run this studio have an incredible vision. They are building a wonderful community of artists and crafters who can share and learn from each other."

"Small Space Collective is such a gem!! I was so happy to find a place to go do small artsy projects. I love that you don't have to sign up for multiple weeks but that you can just pick the workshops that you would like to go and it's easier with me with my schedule that varies all the time.
