Service Description

Join us for a three-session knitting workshop where we’ll create the perfect summer accessory: an elevated, lightweight market bag using a beautiful natural fiber yarn. Designed by Danish brand PetiteKnit, this bag is as functional as it is stylish – perfect for farmer’s market hauls, beach days, or tossing in your everyday tote. What You'll Learn: - How to knit a center-out circular base using the Magic Loop technique - An elegant eyelet stitch pattern for the bag body - How to make sleek and sturdy i-cord straps This project is ideal for knitters who are confident with the basics and ready to expand their skills. The finished bag is soft, compact, and thoughtfully designed for everyday use. We will have optional modifications to adapt this workshop to easier or more advanced. Included in Your Workshop Fee: ✔ Natural fiber yarn ✔ PetiteKnit "Coast Bag" knitting pattern ✔ A cotton project bag to carry your work ✔ Knitting Needles* ✔ Expert, hands-on instruction across two sessions You can choose to omit needles in the check-out if you already own and can bring these needles: - 6.5 mm (US 9) circular needles - 16" and 32" or 40" cord (the size of needle is not critical and you can use any size reasonably close to 6.5mm (US 9). Your bag will end up smaller or larger depending on the size of your needles. Note: I will demonstrate the Magic Loop technique, but if you prefer to use DPNs you're welcome to bring needles and use that technique instead. Please let us know in advance. POV: Taking a class at Small Space

Sam Crane,

This embroidery class was perfect!  The space is inviting and sparks creativity.  Cecilia is a skilled and effective teacher.  She provides you a cute little kit with everything you need! Incredibly grateful for Cecilia to hold the space for some therapeutic making time, community, and skills that I can take with me. Thank you, thank you!

"I have only attended the Fiber Club and Marbling Workshop so far am so inspired!! Small Space Collective is such a treasure in our town. San Clemente has been needing something like this for a long time. The two women who run this studio have an incredible vision. They are building a wonderful community of artists and crafters who can share and learn from each other."

Catherine Peet,

"Small Space Collective is such a gem!! I was so happy to find a place to go do small artsy projects. I love that you don't have to sign up for multiple weeks but that you can just pick the workshops that you would like to go and it's easier with me with my schedule that varies all the time. I am already signing up for the next fun workshop."
