Service Description

Looking for a unique and creative way to spend a summer afternoon with friends? Look no further than our Cyanotype Sun Printing Workshop with Dye and Print artist Rachael Duran of @thundertextile! In this fun, hands-on class, you'll learn the magic of cyanotype, an alternative photographic process that uses sunlight to create beautiful blue prints. It's like capturing summer on paper! Here's why this workshop is perfect for a summer outing in your community: - Unique and Creative: Learn a new skill and create one-of-a-kind artwork using the power of the sun. - Relaxing and Outdoorsy: Spend time with friends in a sunny setting, perfect for a laid-back summer afternoon. - Take Home Frame-Worthy Prints: Everyone walks away with several stunning cyanotype creations to display or gift. Bonus: These prints are incredible on their own, but also make a fantastic unique starting point for other creative projects like Photo Embroidery, Mixed Media Art, Collage, you name it! No prior experience is necessary! Rachael will guide you through the entire process, from coating the paper to making your prints using a variety of objects, including classic botanicals like leaves and flowers. Join us on July 21st from 1pm to 4pm for an afternoon of sun, friends, and artistic exploration. Group is limited to 8 participants. Get your tickets today! For adults and teens when accompanied by an adult. About the Instructor Rachael Duran is the owner/maker at thunder textile. Her interests include macrame, printmaking, marbling, and knitting but her true passion is working with dye. She’s a self taught dyer and works exclusively with natural fiber textiles. Whenever she’s not starting a new project or tackling a new craft she’s having fun with her husband and daughter.

POV: Taking a class at Small Space

Sam Crane,

Dana Point, CA

This embroidery class was perfect!  The space is inviting and sparks creativity.  Cecilia is a skilled and effective teacher.  She provides you a cute little kit with everything you need! Incredibly grateful for Cecilia to hold the space for some therapeutic making time, community, and skills that I can take with me. Thank you, thank you!

"I have only attended the Fiber Club and Marbling Workshop so far am so inspired!! Small Space Collective is such a treasure in our town. San Clemente has been needing something like this for a long time. The two women who run this studio have an incredible vision. They are building a wonderful community of artists and crafters who can share and learn from each other."

Catherine Peet,

"Small Space Collective is such a gem!! I was so happy to find a place to go do small artsy projects. I love that you don't have to sign up for multiple weeks but that you can just pick the workshops that you would like to go and it's easier with me with my schedule that varies all the time. I am already signing up for the next fun workshop."
