Over four Thursday nights (4:30-6:30pm), you'll learn valuable techniques like crafting pockets and buttonholes while constructing the popular June pants by Helen's Closet. This course is perfect for confident beginner sewers who want to refine their skills and create a garment you'll love to wear. In this course you will: - Learn to sew pockets and buttonholes - Construct comfortable, stylish June pants - Gain confidence in your sewing abilities What's included: - Instruction on sewing techniques specific to the June pants - Use of classroom sewing machines (BYO machine optional) - PDF pattern download with printing and assembling instructions (Book Sewing Lab for pattern or cutting assistance) What to bring: - Pre-cut fabric for the June pants (fabric recommendations and yardage chart provided) - Matching or contrasting thread Size Range: 0-34 (up to a 62" hip) About the June Pants: The June Shorts and Pants are that elastic waist design that you can never have enough of in your wardrobe. They are great for everyday wear and for lounging, but can also be dressed up with fancy fabrics! More info here: https://helensclosetpatterns.com/product/june-pants-and-shorts/ Pre-requisite or skills required: - Intro to Garment Sewing Workshop at Small Space OR these skills: - Basic garment sewing skills including how to thread a sewing machine, how to sew and finish seams, how to wind bobbins, how to change needles, how to read a sewing pattern and select your size, how to cut a pattern out of fabric, how to finish a seam. About the Teacher: Cecilia Ostberg, co-owner of Small Space Art Collective, brings a global perspective to her art and teaching. Growing up on the coast of Sweden, she now flourishes in sunny San Clemente, CA, surrounded by her husband, feline companions, and her mother. Cecilia's a lifelong creative spirit, always eager to learn new craft techniques. From garment sewing to jewelry making, her passion lies in handmade creations and artistic exploration. Her travels infuse her work with a unique blend of Scandinavian heritage and Southern California vibes.


Cancellation Policy

Our Policies: Please arrive 10 minutes early for your workshop. Workshops start on time. If you are more that 15 minutes late for your class, you may forfeit your chance to take the class. You may cancel for a refund up to 20 days before the workshop. After that, workshop fees are not refundable or transferable. You may reschedule for a different workshop up to 15 days before the workshop, and up to 7 days if for the same workshop within the following 3 months. We reserve the right cancel or reschedule a workshop with fewer than 4 sign ups. We will inform you at least 24 hours before the workshop if there is cancellation due to low registration. If you cannot attend the rescheduled date, you will receive a refund. If we have no registrations up to 7 days before the workshop, unless otherwise noted in the description, we may cancel or reschedule. Please book in advance or let us know you're planning to book. Please note that we may take photos during the workshop to use on social media. If you do wish to be photographed, please let the teacher know when you arrive. If you are sick, please stay home. Call or email to let us know that you are not coming. You will receive a credit for a future class. By signing up for a class or workshop hosted by Small Space Art Collective you agree to the terms and conditions stated here. You hereby release Small Space Art Collective or any person or persons acting on its behalf from liability for any bodily injuries sustained, or for loss or damage of any personal articles while on the premises or participating in an activity sponsored or hosted by Small Space Art Collective. Furthermore the undersigned agrees that in the event medical attention is required due to accident or illness, Small Space Art Collective shall, without accepting fiscal responsibility, seek such medical services as it deems necessary and appropriate through EMs/911 and/or local hospitals.
