This series is for those who have mastered basic embroidery and want to expand their skills. You'll learn intermediate and advanced stitches like raised stitches, chain stitch variations, french knots, and blanket stitch, while exploring how to combine them for complex, beautiful patterns. We’ll also discuss how to apply these new techniques to real projects. This class is the second session in a two-part series. Each class is independent and booked separately. Participants can book both or either one, however we recommend signing up for both! The stitches covered will be different in each class, but are of similar complexity. Stitches learned include: Session 1: attached fly, ribbed web, couched filling 1, compact chain, woven picot Session 2: leaf, woven spider web, couched filling 2, wheatear, bullion knot. Materials: Fabric and some threads are provided. We have hoops, needles, threaders, and scissors to borrow during the session, but if you have your own preferred tools you're welcome to bring them. She has dedicated herself to the world of fiber arts and design, studying Tambour Embroidery at Hand and Lock and Haute Couture Bead Embroidery with Marco Jerez. Romina has taught various techniques in Chile and Argentina, including hand embroidery, beadwork, tambour, sashiko, crochet, and soutache. She combines her technical expertise with her creative spirit, sharing her knowledge and love for intricate, handmade artistry.

Take your knit embroidery skills further in this second session, where we’ll explore chain stitch embroidery for adding lettered designs to your knit garments! This technique creates a beautiful, textured effect that stands out against knitted fabric, perfect for monograms, meaningful words, or decorative lettering. Participants should bring a knit garment to work on—this can be any type of knit, as long as it’s not a very fine gauge. Whether you want to personalize a sweater, beanie, or cardigan, this workshop will guide you through the process step by step in a fun and relaxed setting. In this 3.5 hour workshop you'll learn what you need to get started sewing on your own or to take one of our more advanced sewing workshops. This session is fun and engaging as we learn while making! This class provides an introduction to the art of Screen Printing. Screen Printing is a process where ink is forced through a mesh screen onto a surface. Making certain areas of the screen impervious to printing ink creates a stencil, which blocks the printing ink from passing through the screen. The ink that passes through forms the printed image. Students will learn the basics including how to create stencils, prepare screens, and different types of inks. We will be using the stencil technique for this class but will discuss light sensitive emulsion and burning screens (with a demonstration). Participants will gain hands-on experience in creating their own designs and printing them onto their chosen material. By the end of the class you will have completed your own unique prints on archival quality paper, a canvas tote bag and 2 cotton napkins or bandanas. Group is limited to 8 participants. Most students take classes on-going and many students have been part of small space studio for many years from childhood through young adult. All of small space art classes offer a safe comforting environment where kids and adults alike become part of a community of art lovers. We believe that everyone has the ability to create art and feel successful. Our classes teach students to learn to slow down, take time, and be reflective about their work. We don’t have deadlines on projects we believe that everyone works at their own pace and what is comfortable for them. Love and compassion are instilled in our work environment. Creating a Vision Board is a fun, easy way to help us not only remember our goals, but to actually achieve them. A Vision board is a collection of images that represent a goal, a desired feeling, or anything that we wish to see manifested in our lives. Combining Reiki meditation with this process helps us find clarity and focus while letting go of our self doubt.
