About the event
Join textile artist Rachael Duran for an immersive natural dye workshop where you'll discover the vibrant world of kettle dyeing using natural dyes.
Throughout the workshop, Rachael will guide you through the entire process, from mordanting to preparing the dye bath, dyeing your chosen items, using post-dye modifiers, and providing aftercare instructions. In this hands-on experience, you'll have the opportunity to dye a variety of items, including a silk scarf, a zipper pouch, and a throw pillow cover.
Rachael's expertise and passion for textiles will ensure that you not only have fun but also gain valuable knowledge about the art of natural dyeing.Â
This workshop is designed to be accessible and engaging for all participants, regardless of skill level. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced textile enthusiast, you'll find the process both easy to follow and creatively fulfilling.

Rachael Duran is the owner/maker at thunder textile. Her interests include macrame, printmaking, marbling, and weaving but her true passion is working with dye. She’s a self taught dyer and works exclusively with natural fiber textiles. Whenever she’s not starting a new project or tackling a new craft she’s having fun with her husband and daughter.
