Quilted iPad Case - Beginner Sewing

Service Description

Learn to sew a sweet custom case to protect your iPad or laptop! In this 3.5-hour workshop, you’ll learn the basics of quilting and bag-making while creating a custom iPad/laptop case. With the help of your talented instructor, you'll learn how to mark and sew a quilt design, work with quilt batting, and how to attach a zipper. Skills you'll gain: * Quilting fundamentals * Working with quilt batting * Zipper installation All materials are provided to make your creative process seamless. For an extra special touch, register at least 2 weeks in advance to request your preferred fabric choice. Bring your iPad/laptop or its measurements to ensure a perfect fit for your case. Whether you're a beginner looking to expand your sewing skills or an experienced sewer wanting to explore quilting, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to learn and create a beautiful, functional piece. Pre-requisite or skills required: - Intro to Sewing Workshop at Small Space OR these skills: - Basic sewing skills including how to thread a sewing machine, how to sew different seams, how to wind bobbins, how to change needles. This workshop is designed for age 13 and up. This is a very small semi-private group with only 5 participants. About the Instructor Mallory Belknap learned to sew in a highschool sewing class, but didn't touch a machine again until years later. During the pandemic, she started a handmade bikini business with her sister, where she re-learned the basics of sewing and taught herself to make swimwear and other garments. She has always loved DIY projects and recreating things she sees on Pinterest. She is constantly saying "wait, I could make that," and she hopes this class inspires you to let go of inhibitions and create for the joy of it.

Cancellation Policy

Our Policies: Please arrive 10 minutes early for your workshop. Workshops start on time. If you are more that 15 minutes late for your class, you may forfeit your chance to take the class. You may cancel for a refund up to 20 days before the workshop. After that, workshop fees are not refundable or transferable. You may reschedule for a different workshop up to 15 days before the workshop, and up to 7 days if for the same workshop within the following 3 months. We reserve the right cancel or reschedule a workshop with fewer than 4 sign ups. We will inform you at least 24 hours before the workshop if there is cancellation due to low registration. If you cannot attend the rescheduled date, you will receive a refund. If we have no registrations up to 7 days before the workshop, unless otherwise noted in the description, we may cancel or reschedule. Please book in advance or let us know you're planning to book. Please note that we may take photos during the workshop to use on social media. If you do wish to be photographed, please let the teacher know when you arrive. If you are sick, please stay home. Call or email to let us know that you are not coming. You will receive a credit for a future class. By signing up for a class or workshop hosted by Small Space Art Collective you agree to the terms and conditions stated here. You hereby release Small Space Art Collective or any person or persons acting on its behalf from liability for any bodily injuries sustained, or for loss or damage of any personal articles while on the premises or participating in an activity sponsored or hosted by Small Space Art Collective. Furthermore the undersigned agrees that in the event medical attention is required due to accident or illness, Small Space Art Collective shall, without accepting fiscal responsibility, seek such medical services as it deems necessary and appropriate through EMs/911 and/or local hospitals.
